Freshwater

St. Johns River south to Green Cove Springs: Some striped bass around
the Buckman Bridge. A few redfish in river in Ortega area. Largemouth bass
fishing has been quiet.

St. Johns River from Green Cove Springs south: Trout Creek holding
some nice bass. One angler had 13 Monday. Quite a few speckled perch in
Trout Creek, too.

Lake George and Crescent Lake: Some monster bass reported around the
beds in Lake George. Specks could fire up around full moon next week in
Crescent and Dead lakes.

Gainesville-area lakes: Speck fishing in area lakes has picked up in last week
or so. Lakes Santa Fe and Alto have been productive. Some bass coming out of
Kingsley Lake.

Rodman Reservoir area: Bass reportedly hitting black/blue tail plastic worms
in Rodman Reservoir. Shiners are also scoring, as usual. Not much on speckled
perch.

Other: Minnows catching speckled perch at Hanna Park Fish Management
area. ... Striped bass have been available in St. Marys River across from
Crandall ramp.



TOURNAMENT UPDATE -- Bryan Taylor totaled 6.50 pounds to win
the St. Johns Bass Anglers tournament out of Bass World Lodge on the St.
Johns River. Brock Lackey was second at 5.05, and Pat Lanier finished third
at 3.35. ... Lee Stalvey and Donnie Smith teamed for 16 pounds, 13 ounces,
including big fish of 6-9, to win the IBEW Bass Club tournament on the St.
Johns River. Eric Lewis and Sam Folds were second at 7-11, and Kevin
Hebert finished third at 7-7.

TOP CATCHES -- Larry Rush and Bruce Collins limited on speckled perch
both Saturday and Sunday on Crescent Lake. ... Also on Crescent, Ralph
Miles and his wife totaled 30 specks over the weekend. ... James and Jamaris
Williams had 40 specks and 35 warmouth in two days of fishing Trout Creek
off the St. Johns River. ...

Also in Trout Creek, Michael Craig had 17 specks to 2 pounds, Raymond
and Bobby Massey caught 30 warmouth and four specks, Sylvia and
Wendell Gregory totaled 20 warmouth and five specks, Jim Willin had 30
warmouth and a dozen specks, and Oakie Worzell reeled in two bass that
went 4 and 5 pounds.
